Job Overview

The Billing Coordinator supports the Finance team with the processing, mailing, emailing or e-billing of invoices for assigned attorneys and providing administrative support to attorneys and staff.

This role has a remote working arrangement. Potential candidates must reside within one of the 10 states in which we have a physical office. In this role, you will report to the Billing Manager.

 

Essential Functions

  • Edit time and cost entries, including transfers, combining, splitting entries and ensure invoices are completed in a timely manner.
  • Forward invoices to clients through mail, email or the e-billing process.
  • Routinely troubleshoot problems including interacting with attorneys and proactively addressing unbilled time and costs in addition to accounts receivable issues.
  • Submit electronically billed invoices to various vendors, which includes follow-up on invoice status, address appeals, short pays, rejections, budgets, etc.
  • Research and reconcile cash application issues when necessary and works closely with the Cash Receipts and Collection Team.
  • Work closely with the Client Matter Maintenance and the Pricing Team for matters that require rate changes, discounts, address changes or any special arrangements.
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys, clients, professional assistants, etc.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Work additional hours as needed to fulfill job requirements.

Skills/Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in billing.
  • Associates degree preferred.
  • Experience in a legal environment or professional services required.
  • Familiarity with various e-billing vendors, such as Serengeti, T360, CounselLink, Collaborati, Passport, Corridor, Lawtrac, etc. a plus.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to develop positive working relationships (in-person and virtually).
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Committed to meeting deadlines as assigned.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with effective organizational skills.
  • Proven problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong client service focus and willingness to accept new challenges and responsibilities.
  • Unquestioned integrity and professionalism.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Proficient in web-based conference call/web-sharing applications.

 

Compensation

The salary range for this role in New York and California is $70,000 - $80,000. Positions outside of New York and California will be subject to salary ranges specific to the market for that particular geographic location. Actual salaries will vary depending upon various factors, including relevant experience and skillset. The salary range listed is just one component of Blank Rome’s total compensation package for employees. Other monetary rewards include annual discretionary bonuses based on performance and profit-sharing contributions based on eligibility and firm profitability.
