Job Overview


Blank Rome is seeking an independent, personable and detailed Paralegal to support the attorneys in delivering the highest level of service to internal and external clients alike on commercial finance and loan transactions. As a contributing team member, the Paralegal is proactive in balancing multiple work demands, taking personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of their work and maintaining client and firm confidentiality. The Paralegal maintains a professional demeanor and focus and seeks to maximize team contribution and minimize disruptions to the workday.


This role has a hybrid working arrangement. Potential candidates must live within commuting distance of a Blank Rome office to be onsite 3 days per week. In this role, you will report to the Director of Paralegal Services.


Essential Functions

  • Assist attorneys in the review and drafting of various legal documents, such as closing documents, certificates, opinion letters.
  • Conduct factual investigations related to legal matters.
  • Assist in due diligence review and loan closings.
  • Review lien search results.
  • Prepare post-transaction closing binders.
  • Work directly with attorneys and clients in connection with corporate transactions.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Work additional hours as needed to fulfill job requirements.

Skills/Qualifications

  • 3+ years of paralegal experience, specifically in finance or bankruptcy.
  • Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certification, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Experience in a legal environment or professional services required.
  • Understanding of Article 9, lien searches, filing, and resolution processes.
  • Knowledge of UCC filing requirements and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and digest lien search results.
  • Familiarity with PACER, efiling, and search processes.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to develop positive working relationships (in-person and virtually).
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with effective organizational skills.
  • Proven problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Unquestioned

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Proficient in web-based conference call/web-sharing applications.

Compensation


The salary range for this role in California is $70,000 - $100,000. Positions outside of California will be subject to salary ranges specific to the market for that particular geographic location. Actual salaries will vary depending upon various factors, including relevant experience and skillset. The salary range listed is just one component of Blank Rome’s total compensation package for employees. Other monetary rewards include annual discretionary bonuses based on performance and profit-sharing contributions based on eligibility and firm profitability.
