Job Overview
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for supporting the billing attorneys in collecting and managing their accounts receivable, providing quality customer service and performing credit analyses on new matters coming into the firm.
This role has a remote working arrangement. Potential candidates must reside within one of the 10 states in which we have a physical office. In this role, you will report to the Senior Accounts Receivable Manager.
Essential Functions
- Learn the collection system, Star*Collect and the financial system, 3E to manage a portfolio of clients, reaching out to the billing attorneys, emailing clients and making client calls as needed.
- Email monthly statements to approved clients.
- Attend billing meetings to review attorneys’ A/R and WIP and handle requests such as write-offs, invoices, statements, client follow-ups and document the accounts.
- Investigate discrepancies between customer invoices and customer payments.
- Understand reporting systems such as View 360 and SAP InfoView.
- Understand realization concepts.
- Review new matters coming into the firm.
- Check for unbilled time, outstanding accounts receivable and consistency of fee arrangement with previous matters.
- Maintain accurate and current customer A/P contacts, emails and phone numbers in Star*Collect.
- Ensure the accurate coding of clients in Star*Collect to ensure accuracy of reporting.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
- Work additional hours as needed to fulfill job requirements.

Skills/Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in in a law firm or professional services.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience in a legal environment or professional services required.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to develop positive working relationships (in-person and virtually).
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with effective organizational skills.
- Proven problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Unquestioned integrity and professionalism.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and other general computer programs and have a solid basic math skills.
- Proficient in web-based conference call/web-sharing applications.

Compensation
The salary range for this role in California, Illinois, Minnesota, New York, and Washington, DC is $70,000 - $85,000. Positions outside of California, Illinois, Minnesota, New York, and Washington, DC will be subject to salary ranges specific to the market for that particular geographic location. Actual salaries will vary depending upon various factors, including relevant experience and skillset. The salary range listed is just one component of Blank Rome’s total compensation package for employees. Other monetary rewards include annual discretionary bonuses based on performance and profit-sharing contributions based on eligibility and firm profitability.
